Envelope Punch Board: Card Box Tutorial

March 17, 2014 By Meg Loven 8 Comments

Envelope Punch Board: Make a Gift Box for Cards! Video Tutorial by LovenStamps

Here’s another tutorial for one of my March Stamps in the Mail Club projects.  Did you see my Pop-Up Box Card tutorial last week?  Just like that project, this one uses elements from the Happenings Simply Created Card Kit (133329) and elements from my March Stamps in the Mail Club card kit, including the Says It All stamp set (133173).

Envelope Punch Board: DIY Gift Box and Card set with the Happenings Stamps in the Mail Club (March) from LovenStampsActually, if you purchase the March SITM kit, you’ll be making this Gift Box & Card set at home!  The Envelope Punch Board tutorial is for your information.  With Stamps in the Mail, you don’t need to own the Envelope Punch Board (133774) since your box will be pre-scored.

The finished box size from my video holds the Stampin’ Up! Note Cards & Envelopes (131527) as well as the envelopes and cards from the Happenings Simply Created Card Kit (133329).

Here are my scoring notes for the Gift Box for Cards & Envelopes:

  • Card stock: 8 1/4″ x 8 1/4″
  • First score line: 3 1/8″ (and punch)
  • Second score line: 4 1/8″ (and punch)

Then repeat by lining up each score line with the score guide and continue to rotate and score along each side.  Use the corner rounder on the Punch Board to finish off your tips, and viola!

If you’re viewing via email subscription, click here to see the video directly on YouTube

Pretty simple!  Cards make terrific gifts for friends, family, teachers… pretty much everyone!  And with a sweet coordinating gift box, they’re even better.  So grab your Envelope Punch Board and get started!  Or make your first one by getting your own March Stamps in the Mail Club Kit from me 🙂

Happy Stamping!

Did I understand you to say the finished card size is 5×3 1/2
How do I make the envelope for the A2 card size?

Hi Lynn – Yes, the box is for the Stampin’ Up! note card size (3-1/2″ x 5″). I haven’t played with the size for the regular cards, but the Envelope Punch Board has handy cutting dimensions for pretty much any envelope size you can dream up. Just adjust as I did in the video so that you have an extra ‘ka-chunk’ on each side.

What size card fits in the above box? I’m looking for the 5×7 & 6×6. What paper would I start with?
    Thanks

Hi Lynn – This box fits the note card size – 3 1/2″ x 5″. To find other sizes, there is a demonstrator in the UK who has a handy calculator online: http://www.imjustlovinit.co.uk/p/crafty-envelope-punch-board-calculator.html
