When a stamp set (like Rose Wonder) has such beautiful lines, a sweet and simple layout is all that’s needed to highlight the art work. On this card I’ve used only black and vanilla plus a single color to bring out the rose. When you’re going for impact, the color hues in Calypso Coral and Watermelon Wonder definitely deliver.
It’s easy to want to color this image. After all, the leaves beg to be green and the rose begs for a pretty pink, right? But I like the simplicity of a monochromatic card to let the rose speak for itself. Too much color can overwhelm a simple image like this flower.
To be clear though, monochromatic doesn’t mean boring! Check out how this Stamps in the Mail Club card adds the gold glitz in the form of sequins and repeats the accent in the Gold Baker’s Twine. And while the flower is in Calypso Coral, the color effect is ramped up by the In Color Blossom Accent in Watermelon Wonder.
