Who Needs Icing When You Can Have BLING?

Really, what do little girls want? Yup, glitter and rhinestones.  So with this birthday card, the idea was to include both shine and glitz.

The card is created to hang from the handles of a gift bag, because little girls also don’t want to have to open envelopes.  Honestly, they’d rather skip the card altogether and just open the present.  But at least if the card is shiny, they might look twice, right?

081011cupcakesetLet me tell you a little bit more about this card.  If you look at the cupcake image on the card, you’ll see that there are no words on it… while there are definitely words on the stamp.

**STAMPING TIP** When mounting this fabulous Simple Birthday Thanks cupcake stamp, you can use a great trick to make it even more flexible.  Just use sharp scissors or a hobby blade to trim the words out from the cupcake.  Mount them on a spare wood block or on the back of the cupcake wood block. That way you can decide whether or not you want to use them.  Plus the words make a great stamp all their own, for kids to use on notes following Christmas, etc. when you might not need a cupcake.

    • Thanks so much Sandy! I’m glad you’re having a good time with them. With Summer Scrap Camp over the last 6-7 years I’ve had a lot of opportunity to ‘test’ a number of ideas for kids 🙂

If you’d like to sort out more kid ideas, I have a category for them on my blog: https://lovenstamps.com/category/kids-stamping/

Have fun with the projects, and enjoy the time with your grandkids — they’re lucky to have you, too!! I loved the Father’s Day tie card!
