Have you seen these cards all over the place? The Faux Polaroid Frames are super trendy in papercrafting, both in the card making world AND in the scrapbooking world.
Want to get the look yourself?
Here are the DIY instructions for making Faux Polaroid Frames.
Supplies:
- White card stock (100730 – dimensions: 3″ x 3-3/4″)
- Squares Collection Framelits (130521)
- Big Shot (113439)
- Optional: Magnetic Platform (130658)
The steps are so simple – there’s only 1 step. Yikes!
- Use the 2-1/2″ Square Framelit from the set to cut out the window.
I know, crazy to have only 1 step, but there it is. If you’re curious, the “optional” Magnetic Platform is wonderful. The magnet helps the Framelit die stay exactly where you set it — like magic. Except it’s a magnet, not magic. But the effect is the same!
I love the Faux Polaroid frame project with larger stamps that don’t quite fit in the window, like the flower here from the Regarding Dahlias stamp set (130327).
If you’d like the steps on what to do WITH your frame and adding some beautiful Crystal Effects gloss (101055) to your project, here’s a Video Tutorials from my Stamps in

Very pretty! Can you dry the crystal effects with the new heat gun on low?
Ter ;)
Might be worth trying…but try it on a test spot, first. With the hot setting the Crystal Effects can sometimes bubble (boil) and makes a mess instead of drying.
