Happy New Year: Special Guest with the Crazy Crafter’s Blog Hop

Hello to all our stamping friends who are enjoying warm temps this holiday season! With all the snow and ice right now in Illinois, it’s easy to forget that it’s all sun and sand in the southern hemisphere. So for all you lucky Australians, hope you’re having a great time in the sun – and a Happy New Year to everyone around the globe!

So after you check out my post here, continue on around the globe using the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop link.  Those Crazy Crafters invited me to participate in this hop (thanks Kylie Bertucci!!) and share some projects with a twist. They’ve all looked through my blog and picked out a project or two to CASE – Copy and Selectively Edit – and they’re going to share their twist on whatever I’ve posted in the past.

I looked back through my own gallery archives (did you know you can view them by subject?):

And I picked out one of my favorite all-time projects – an Art Sampler Frame. I followed my own directions from the blog post (there’s a video tutorial, if you want extra details) to create this updated version – featuring the Sneak Peek Bubble Over stamp set that will debut this week in the 2018 Occasions Catalog!

I love working with Stampin’ Up! papers and stamps – these kinds of Art Sampler Frames pretty much create themselves. Stampin’ Up! does such a great job with matching elements from papers, stamps and dies. One of my favs from this suite is the bottle cap die that I’ve featured in the center of the sampler.

Another favorite is the little ‘thumbs up’ stamp from the Bubble Over stamp set.  I can see myself adding this little ‘like’ to the backs of my cards – pretty much all of them. Plus the new color Glimmer Paper (again available beginning January 3) comes in 3 gorgeous colors.

The stamps and dies will be available in the Occasions Catalog beginning January 3, and the Bubbles & Fizz Designer Series Paper is a Sale-A-Bration selection (a full pack of DSP free with a $50 order!). But my VERY favorite part of this project is the Tutti-Frutti Adhesive Backed Sequins…SO love these little bits of sticky sparkle!

AND to make it even better, I’ve included a sampler of these pretty sequins with my January Stamps in the Mail Club kit – you’re going to love them, too! Read on below for more details on the January Stamps in the Mail Club.

Inspired to try your own CASE of one of my projects? Try an Art Sampler Frame! I’ve compiled a few links to help point you in the right direction.  The formula is similar for all of them – just select the colors and elements and try mixing and matching til you have the look you love. (Check out more Art Sampler Frame projects from my blog.)

Available only to US customers (sorry!), when you order a Stamps in the Mail Club kit, you’re bringing a class to your doorstep – with all the pieces ready-to-stamp, and including the stamps, ink and embellishments you’ll need to craft at home.

It’s easy to sign up – just request your kit online and watch for the PayPal invoice. Not a US customer? That’s okay – be sure to watch for my free Video Tutorial on this project later in January, and order supplies from a demonstrator in your own country!

Want details on how the frame stands up on its own? The technique is a great way to recycle the tag board that comes with Designer Series Paper. I shared pin-able directions on how to make your own art stands with my Art Sampler Frame a couple of years ago.

    • Hi Michelle! I’m here in central Illinois – Champaign-Urbana area, although I travel to Decatur, Bloomington and Peoria pretty regularly :) Let me know if you’re close! It’s always fun to meet new Stamping friends!

  6. I love these samplers, I did look at casing…. but I tend to be a DSP hoarder until I make the first cut, and I couldn’t bring myself to cut into a new pack just yet!

    • I hear you on that!! I’m reformed :) Now that I have a few sizes that I love to cut (3″x4″), it’s sooo much easier for me to cut into my sheets!

  7. I just love this design, Meg! Thank you for hopping with us Crazies! It was a lot of fun casing you xx
