Halloween Grunge: A Witchy Card in a Glassine Bag

Who said that envelopes have to be boring and normal?  Have you tried delivering a card in a Glassine Bag yet?  These Halloween treat cards are perfect when you want to add a card AND a treat (like a gift certificate).  The Spooky Fun tag on the front with the die cut witch from the Halloween Scenes Edgelits Dies creates a terrific focal point.  And the greeting tucks inside on the card front – with the perfect amount of transparency through the Glassine Bag.

Of course with the witch tag on the front this card can’t be mailed without a larger envelope, but for hand-delivered cards or treats, the Glassine Bags are a perfect solution. And the multi-layered design keep the card interesting while it’s in the bag AND as the card comes out!

So many fun NEW supplies for this project, too!  I can already tell that the Ghoulish Grunge stamp set will be one of my go-to sets this season – and for several seasons to come.  The elements included (brick wall, cheesecloth) will be useful for a variety of cards, and the spider web and drippy goo images are Halloween gold!  Or Halloween orange and black?  Or red?  They’re perfect. 

Finally, this project idea is a terrific solution for using up scraps of Designer Series Paper.  Or feel free to cut into a new sheet with the Halloween Night Specialty Paper.  Really, it’s okay.  You don’t have to hoard the paper…use it!  And if it’s reassuring to use just a tiny bit, so you’ll “have the rest when you need it for a project” then rest assured that this project is a perfect way to use a tiny strip and leave the bulk of the paper for later.
