I love giving cards as gifts. And I love it even more when there’s a coordinating box to make the presentation perfect! But as you may know, the Acetate Card Boxes in the Stampin’ Up! catalog are too big for note cards – the cards just flop around in the box like dead fish.
And dead fish do not make good gift ideas.
So to fix this, I created a special box insert for the Note Cards & Envelopes – so that they fit perfectly inside the sweet boxes. It’s the “no flopping” option and adds a nice finished look to the boxes.
How to Make the Note Card Insert for Acetate Card Boxes:
- Cut card stock to 5 3/4″ x 7 7/8″
- Score at 3/8″, 7/8″, 1 1/4″, 1 3/4″, 6 1/8″, 6 5/8″, 7″ and 7 1/2″
- Fold on all score lines and add strong adhesive at the ends. Fold flaps to create insert.
Ready for another quick tip? When you use the Old Olive Linen Thread (or the regular Linen Thread) you’ll notice that it’s not a bulky cord. In fact, it’s quite petite. So wrapping it around the box 4 times will give you a much nicer “presence” on your project.
Even better quick tip? Pair two strands of the Linen Thread together before you wrap and tie your bow. That way the bow will have the nice bulk that you see here below – rather than a too-skinny thread look from a single strand.
