So many techniques for the fun Sunburst Thinlits Die (140617) and the coordinating Sunburst Sayings stamp set (140725). This video tutorial post will teach you how to use the die cut to create a faux layered sunburst – a simple combination of sponging and masking.
This is the first of 4 projects for my February Stamps in the Mail Club – learn more about getting your own kit this month – and as always, all the pieces are pre-cut, die cut and packaged with directions. Already own the stamps and ink included in the kit? No problem – just pick out whatever you’d like instead and I’ll send you a custom PayPal invoice.
The technique for this card looks tricky at first, but you’ll have the hang of it in no time. Want a simple tip? Cut your sunburst from the backing tag board that comes with packages of Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper. The tag board is the perfect weight to cut easily but can stand up to multiple uses as a semi-permanent mask. (Yes, now you have an excuse to save all those white tag board sheets – you know you wanted to save them anyway!)
