Spinner Cards Made Simple: Santa’s Workshop

I love a good ‘card that moves’ – in fact, I have shared a whole library of video tutorials and tips on how to make cards that move. This Santa’s Workshop Spinner Card is one of my favorites though. I think it’s the sweet stamp images from the Signs of Santa stamp set that make the layout perfect: a jaunty Santa for a jaunty card design!

To keep things simple though (some Spinner Cards use a double-layer technique that takes extra die cutting), I used an easy Baker’s Twine suspension system on Santa. After the die cut ovals are colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers (love those super-saturated bright colors!), I taped the string between the layers and trapped it at the top and bottom inside the card with contrasting card stock.

Easy, right? I know! I love it when a good card turns out to be pretty simple. The Layering Oval Framelits are a must-have for cards like this though. Since there are so many different oval sizes included, you can customize your design to fit the size of your favorite stamp image.

Ready to see this card assembled? Spinner cards like this are really a breeze – but I do have a few ‘must know’ tips for making them simple.  The video tutorial will teach you all you need to know!
