If you have a figure skater in your family, then I don’t need to translate for you. But if not, then SK8 GR8 = skate great. This weekend is the annual Ice Show at my daughter’s rink and we are ALL excited. Time to collect all 4 of her costumes, make sure she has skates, make-up, props… The atmosphere is one big haze of excitement around here!
The card above is one I actually created this winter for Abby’s team skating coach. All 24 of the girls wanted to sign her birthday card, so I used the ice skate I carved from the new Undefined Stamp Carving Kit (available in my online store). The card is sized to fit many signatures — each ‘page’ is 6″ x 6″.
3 Panel Card Instructions (super simple)
- Cut two card stock pieces to 6″ x 12″ and score in the center of each.
- Overlap the center panels and adhere.
- Decorate as desired!

The UIUC’s Ice Arena Spring Show is rapidly approaching! Performing will be skaters from the area, a nationally rank synchronized skating team, and several skaters who have competed at a national and world level. Tickets will be $5 for general seating and $7 for reserved seating.

Congrats to your skater! My oldest skated for over 5 years in the LTS and later with private lessons. She finally gave it up because of time required for national competitions. Skating was great in helping her with dancing for the school play and getting her black belt in TKD. She is now a lacrosse player.
Great card and beautiful stamps. I have never had much luck with hand carving or sculpting, so I will leave it to the pros. LOL Wish SU would offer more of the sports, even if we had to do a custom stamp!

Wow! Congrats to your daughter, too!! Sounds like skating was a good start for her on lots of activities. Maybe you can carve a TKD stamp – it’s MUCH easier than I expected :) And watch for the new catalog — there’s a great new sports set included!
