Scallop Punch Buckle

080829-open-house-card-flowerThis is one of the projects from my New Catalog Open House last Friday (wow, this was a quick week!!).

The colors are the new Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze and Pacific Point, and the Eastern Blooms stamp set flower (15% off right now!!) is stamped in Tangerine Tango. The greeting is from the Heard From the Heart stamp set (also 15% off right now!!).

The little flower in the center is one of the new Filigree Brads (catty page 184), attached with Tombow Multiadhesive so the center is open. I love these little brads and LOTS of people just “had” to order them at the Open House ;-)

080829-scallop-punch-cardsThe Scallop Edge Punch is a terrific tool–it was the most popular item ordered at my Open House–and I can see why!! This card showcases another fun way to use it.

Start with a 3×3″ square of cardstock, and punch once in the center of each side, all the way around. You can tell you have the center if you look at the scallop on the punch itself–just center the cardstock and you’re set.

Once you have all four sides punched, use scissors to trim off the top and the bottom edges as shown.

Cut a piece of the Baja Breeze cardstock to fit through the opening and you have a Scallop Edge buckle of sorts!
