The other day I mentioned that I’m loving the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt flowers as part of the My Digital Studio program, but I neglected to mention that I’m enjoying them in ‘real life’ too–not just in my virtual stamping!
My daughter and I were visiting with a stamping friend (actually, another demonstrator from my LovenStampfuls group!) when we noticed that the flowers on her Gymboree shirt looked an awful lot like the Stitched Felt Flowers from the Occasions Mini Catalog.
Since we like Gymboree but don’t always like the pricetags, Shirley and I decided that it would be perfect to make some shirts using our Stampin’ Up! felt flowers! Here are the results.
On the pink Hanna Anderson t-shirt (‘borrowed’ from my daughter’s drawer), I used thread to stitch on a spattering of the felt pieces plus a couple of buttons from the Sherbet Designer Button set in the matching Pretty in Pink.
To get the pieces in place and then make it easy to sew them on without having to replace them all, I actually tacked them down with Stampin’ Up!’s Tombow Multiadhesive.
I also did the same with an inexpensive white t-shirt from another big chain.
Of course you can also use the Felt Flowers on things like notebooks (check this one out) and cards (here are a few). They’re actually one of the featured products in my Stamps in the Mail Club this Round, which begins in February! It’s not too late to sign up! (learn more on my website)
Here’s a note from Patrice, a Stamps in the Mail Club newbie:
I cheated and put the heart box together since the Stamps in the Mail package came on Friday. I am now convinced I love chipboard. I previously had not really done much with it, but make a few star ornaments. The Heart Box is super fabulous and it’s not embellished yet. There are Hershey Kisses in it (not as many as there was originally) and it is so stinkin’ cute. Everyone at my house is convinced they are getting it for Valentine’s Day[…]. I Thank You so much for having Stamps in the Mail. It is such a great idea and the cards are terrific. I love love love the box too!!!
(You can check out the project Patrice is talking about…)

Very cute idea! How do the felt pieces stand up after a wash?
very good question… haven't tried yet, so will have to get back to you on this :-)
These shirts are adorable! Very much like something you'd see in Gymboree! You did a great job!
