We went to a wedding earlier this summer that was absolutely gorgeous – from the hand-stamped invitations to the hand-crafted chocolate favors. So of course I had to come up with a unique card for the bride & groom. Right??
This week I posted another wedding card design with the Everything Eleanor stamp set (124164). Today’s card uses another all-occasion stamp set: Big News (134018).
This card incorporates some of the bride’s design elements – like the peacock feather. Did you know they’re super-trendy for weddings right now? Plus they give you a gorgeous color palette for designing!
I also used another of my fav elements for right now – the Designer Rosette Die (125594) for the Big Shot. As you can see, I layered two of the Starburst Framelits Dies (132967) pieces over the top and adhered them to make a hinge opening for the card.
Here’s a speedy tutorial graphic (feel free to pin it!) on using the Designer Rosette Die.
I cut two 8 1/2″ strips of Blackberry Bliss card stock with the die, then split each in half the long way (end up with 4 strips). I used the scallop edge pieces to make the rosette for the wedding card, and the zig-zag edge pieces in the tutorial graphic.
And the envelope! It’s a dimensional envelope created with the Envelope Punch Board (love it!). If you’ve never used the Envelope Punch Board to make a deep envelope, then you’ll want to watch my Video Tutorial. The sizes are a bit different, but you’ll get the idea.
Cutting directions for the envelope:
For the wedding card (or to fit any special occasion card using an Designer Rosette), I started with a piece of 10″ x 10″ Designer Series Paper and used the 4-3/4″ score line to begin. Then I offset the next round of score lines by 1/2″. Yup, I know that sounds like Greek, but if you watch the video tutorial, I promise it will make more sense!
We had a great time at the wedding – and I hope the bride & groom enjoyed their card! Tis the season, so time to get stamping and make some more wedding and anniversary cards!
Well, 3 out of 4 smiles ain’t bad. It’s tough when you have to wear those fancy shoes…
Happy Stamping!
