Do you ever get going on a project, only to realize that you don’t have the right color of ribbon/brad/button/whatever on hand?
One solution would of course be to buy one of everything Stampin’ Up! carries, but then your problem would be finding the particular roll of ribbon you needed among the 100’s :-)
Another solution would be to sign up for my Stamps in the Mail Club, where the supplies are all at your fingertips in the project kit.
A third solution would be to create whatever embellishment you need from what you already have on hand… yes, let the *magic* begin!!
On this card, I really wanted to use a strip of pretty Barely Banana ribbon to match the Barely Banana cardstock and the color in the Shades of Spring Designer Series Paper. But alas, I didn’t have any Barely Banana ribbon handy. So instead, I created a paper ribbon from my leftover card stock!
Technique Tip — Paper Ribbons:
1. cut a strip of paper the width of your desired ribbon
2. holding each end of the strip, run the card stock back and forth across a table edge to break the fibers
3. bend, tie or add flippy folds (as above) to your card stock ribbon
