Watercolor Trio Workshop: Simple Stamping with Markers

Ever need a quick card?  Ever wonder where ideas come from?  Me too!

Yesterday afternoon I needed a quick card for a mixed group of stampers.  Something that the new stampers wouldn’t find intimidating, but something that would still ‘wow’ the experienced gals.  So I turned to a great card that Deb Valder created for a meeting in Boston that I attended in the spring, and did a little bit of adapting.

We used three new Stampin’ Write Markers: Pacific Point, Marina Mist and Wild Wasabi.  I do love this color combo (check out another project). And speaking of new markers, did you know there are 2 in my September Stamps in the Mail Club kit?  The multi-colored flowers above are done by coloring directly on the stamp with the markers in several colors, then stamping onto the card stock.  Cool, eh?

The Watercolor Trio stamp set has several gorgeous images but also includes basic greeting stamps–definitely a handy set to have on your stamping shelf.  It’s only available until August 31st, so don’t forget to order it before time runs out.

The card above uses the Square Lattice Impressions Folder for the textured background (gotta love the Big Shot!).  The stamped image is on a 1-3/4″ Circle Punch piece and the Pacific Point layer is punched with the 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch.

I’m loving these larger sized punches… just wait til you see the NEW ones coming on September 1st in the Holiday Mini Catalog!
