Stamping Trend Alert: Die Cut Silhouette Backgrounds with Eclectic Layers

I’m in love with this effect: a silhouette die cut background, with a colorful collage embellishment over the top. With the diamond shape die cut (from the Eclectic Layers Thinlits Dies), this is a simple card to create.  And the focal point can be anything – birthday cake, sparkling jewels, or even a Christmas ornament.

With this card for my August Stamps in the Mail Club kits, the featured shapes and colors come from the Naturally Eclectic Suite (see the suite).

The die cut shapes can be used for other techniques, too – think mask for spritzing or sponging color, or try using the pattern as a mask for adding Embossing Paste to a project (see my last Embossing Paste cards).

No matter how you choose to use it, the combination of the Oh So Eclectic stamp set and the Eclectic Layers Thinlits is a great combination.
