The buzz around the hallways on Day 3 was that this was the BEST Leadership Conference ever. And I’ve been to quite a few to compare! My morning started off with a breakfast meeting for demonstrators that hold the title of Senior Executives and above. What an amazing group of women – creative & savvy. It’s a privilege to be a part of the energy and ideas that flow around that room.
And we each received a special gift from Stampin’ Up! – a pen from Brighton with a sweet tag and staying stamped on the case. Thank you, Shelli! And yes, that stamp is in the Occasions Catalog. It’s with the Starburst stamp & framelit bundle (134818) and I used it on some of my own gifts recently!
And funny story, but I got to visit with another demonstrator at the meeting — her mom and my aunt were great friends when they went to college. In fact, they were so close that Nancy Juliano is named after my aunt! It’s a small small world…and we figured out how we were “related” when my aunt and Nancy’s mom were catching up a few years ago. Too funny!
Then it was off to general session for training on business topics… boooorrrring? No way! There was definitely nothing boring that morning! The theater was filled with hysterical laughter for most of the morning, since the information was presented in a game show called, “Um, um…I knew that!”
Emcees Brian Pilling and Chad Williams covered an amazing array of information during their game show, and managed to drive home some key points on training and business. It was amazing — and hysterically funny!
What a fun way to kick off our final morning at Leadership. After that was lunch — which at Leadership is a served meal on actual plates instead of boxed lunches. And the best part is that it comes with fabulous desserts!
After lunch, we had some extra time that resulted in an impromptu My Digital Studio library training session from Mary Ellen Stites — I learned some cool things!
Then we saw some FABULOUS project demonstrations from Shelli Gardner, our Stampin’ Up! co-founder and CEO. For a lady who just recovered from a massive horseback riding accident, I thought she did an amazing job. Check that — she did an amazing job for ANYONE. Accident?? You would never know that just a few months ago Shelli couldn’t even walk. Truly, she is an amazing woman.
The card above uses the Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack (132996), love it! And the Small Heart Punch (117193). See how she used the punch to make a little window to the inside of the card at the end of the line of hearts??
She also showed some Sneak Peek projects using the Sale-A-Bration freebie items, the Banner Punch and the Banner Blast stamp set. Just wait!! Sale-A-Bration is coming — January 28th! And during SAB, for every $50 you order, you can pick out a free SAB treat (like the banner punch or stamp set!). If you didn’t get your SAB mini catalog in the mail from me and you’d like one, be sure to drop me an email with your address and I’d be happy to send one along to you.
And banners (bigger ones) were a huge theme item, too. Have you made any banners yet? I’m LOVING these!! These were created to feature the Banner Framelit Set (132173) from the Occasions Catalog — love it!! I’ve used that one a bunch already, too.
And then we got FREE STAMPS! Do we look happy? :)
They announced the dates for the 2014 Stampin’ Up! Convention this coming summer. We have SUCH a BLAST at Convention!! (look at all the fun we’ve had in the past) Truly — it’s a terrific event and a great chance to be inspired creatively as well as hang out and meet new friends.
And even better!???? Convention 2014 will be FREE REGISTRATION for any new demonstrators who sign up between last summer and registration time this spring!!
So how about it? Will you join me this year? Drop me an email if you’d like some details about how Convention works and what it really means to “be a demonstrator”.
I’d love to have you join my family — and during Sale-A-Bration (begins January 28) there is a great bonus for signing up :)
After Leadership officially ended, we got to watch my friend and downline member, Dixie Finn, do a fabulous demonstration for a public event that Stampin’ Up! held in Houston. Way to go, Dixie!
And then we grabbed some quick snacks before dinner. I’ve gotten some really sweet compliments from people about my appearance in some of the Leadership pictures. Thank you all so much! Mainly my weight loss is due to a MAJOR change in what I eat. The diet I’m on is meant to eliminate foods that cause food reactions for people, and clearly my body is happy to be rid of a lot of those foods! Result = weight loss and feeling so much healthier.
Anyway, I’ve been talking about how much I loved kombucha (a fermented tea/juice drink – yum!) and so a bunch of friends decided to try it. Reviews? About 75% liked it, 25% were NOT fans :) But at least they tried it!
Here’s all of us with our treats for the evening. My contribution to our mini tapas table? Prosciutto-wrapped dates! Yum! And they’re on my food list. And if you think that sounds gross… don’t knock it til you’ve tried it :)
Well, that about wraps it up! Stay tuned for more ideas from Leadership, and if you missed my past days posts, check those posts out now.
If you have questions about joining my demonstrator family, I’d love to answer them for you!
We have a wonderful group that lives all over the country (and even posted overseas!) and many many times in the past we’ve had demonstrator “family” members come to convention and meet us for the first time. In fact, some of our very best friends have been met that way. I love the relationships that form when the craft of stamping binds us together.
Happy Stamping!
