Simple Strip SPRING Pop-Out Card, Sweet Storybook Friends Stampin’ Up!®’s Storybook Suite

These little critters are a darling tribute to storybook friends from our younger years. Today’s fun Simple Strip Pop-Out Card is a breeze with the Storybook Moments Designer Series Paper. The beautifully illustrated die cut characters make perfect accents on the pop out element, and the larger papers create gorgeous background scenery.

The Strip Pop-Out Card is one of the easiest fun fold pop up cards to create. Just cut a strip for the center and score it three times – once in the middle and then in the middle of each half (spoiler…you can actually score it closer to the center than the halfway point, but half and half is simple.)

The panels inside the card are the perfect spot to place a variety of accent die cuts from the Specialty Designer Series Paper. Just pop them out and stick. Be careful to keep adhesive only where it will contact the cross strip though – you don’t want to stick your card closed!

The gardening elements create a fun focal point on the card front. Layer them and add dimensionals under some for extra interest. The ornate picture book frame in the background is the ideal layer to highlight the die cuts. This frame is cut twice – once from Mossy Meadow cardstock and once from Wild Wheat, then the pieces put back together for the finished frame.

Finally, did you see this ribbon trick from the video?? I wanted a narrow strip of ribbon but it’s tricky to cut freehand. To make it easier, I added SEAL+ adhesive to the back of the ribbon, then stuck it to an extra blank Dimensionals sheet. Cut the sheet and the ribbon all at once and it’s a snap to get the ribbon cut exactly where you want it.
