Simple Stamping Treat Tubes: Spooky Cat on a Spooky Night

LovenStamps: Spooky Cat and the Cat Punch Treat Tube Holder Card - updated directions for using Spooky Night Designer Series Paper

I am in love with this Spooky Night Designer Series Paper right now – so many fun ideas! Did you know that you can punch the printed cats from the paper with the new Cat Punch?

And that the tree branch featured in this project has TWO directions – shown here with the cat sitting in front of the moon, or rotate to the left 90 degrees, and the owl image from Spooky Cat fits perfectly over the moon!  Seriously – this paper is so well designed – the crafting engineer in me is really impressed.

Need a fun DIY place card holder for your Thanksgiving table? This project design is just what you need! Instead of the “Trick or Treat” at the top, just punch the Everyday Label Punch and add a name. Oh – and of course change out the colors and images for Thanksgiving, unless you really love Spooky Cat! Oh – and fill it with candy, instead of coordinating paper shred :)

The Treat Tube Card project is a pretty easy one – my directions are adapted from ones shared by my stamping friend, BJ Peters. I just adjusted a tiny bit to make my treat holders wide enough for a 3″ wide piece of Designer Series Paper on the front.

This version is the perfect size for the 3″ x 3″ panel of moon and branch from the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper!

I’m also a fan of simple cutting, so here are my tips for making this an easy project to create at home.

Meg’s Spooky Cat Treat Tube Card Directions

  1. Cut card stock to 4” x 8 ¼”
  2. Score at 3 ¼”, 3 7/8” and 4 ½”
  3. Fold a “W” in the center and cut with scissors from folded edge to score lines
  4. Add adhesive as shown, then fold shut flat
  5. Invert center ‘band’ and use to hold Treat Tube
  6. Cut layers for front and inside card (3” x 3 ¾”)
  7. Decorate as desired

See? Pretty simple!  You can even leave off the adhesive in step 4 if you want – the Treat Tube will still stay tucked in the center with no problem.

Ready to make your own version at home? Great!
