Last night Sharon and her friends had a Stampin’ Party, and in addition to the other projects I shared with them, I brought supplies to make cards to go along with the quilts their group helps create for the Quilts of Valor program. To go along with each quilt, they like to send a personalized card and one of the ladies said she was scrambling to have a card with the last quilt she mailed.
Gasp! I may not be a quilter (ha ha, evidenced by my sewing video tutorial), but I can certainly help with cards! So this is what I designed for them:
We made 24 cards in 20 minutes – they’re a powerful crafting group! The stamp sets we used were Pretty Postage (see it online) with the nice ‘thanks’ greeting to mimic the stripes, and the star from Pennant Parade (see it online). The circle is the 3 1/2″ Circle Die for the Big Shot (see it online).
This is a great design if you want to make something patriotic (July 4th is around the corner!) but you don’t have any patriotic stamp sets handy. Just pull out your Real Red and Midnight Muse (one of the new In Colors!) and add some Whisper White and you’re all set! Plus I’m in love with the new Stitched Satin Ribbons – check out some other project ideas on my blog.
Thanks to all our servicemen and servicewomen!
Happy Stamping!
