Have you seen the Perfectly Preserved stamp set in the Holiday Catalog yet? (see it now) My first thought was that I don’t can, so didn’t think I’d use it. Good thing I didn’t listen to myself and got it anyway ;) There is a lot more to this set than just the jar. The ‘thank you’, flower and stem are all from Perfectly Preserved, and you can even get the stamp set with the Framelit bundle for a 15% discount!
I’m calling the technique Rainbow Smudge, and this is what we’re making at Stamp Club at my house today:
Here are the steps for the Rainbow Smudge Technique:
- Tear a piece of scratch paper and hold it to make your mask.
- Use Sponge Daubers to add ink in a circular motion (burnishing), beginning with the lighted color first.
- Add colors as desired, working the ink into the paper until the color tones are smooth (no lines).
- Keep the mask on the card and stamp a silhouette image (ie from Perfectly Preserved used here).
Very simple, but very effective! Here’s a place to let your colors shine — the colors you pick set the mood for your project. This could be a GREAT guy card idea – just pick guy colors like oranges and blues to go with the Early Espresso.
