It probably comes as no surprise when I say that I love rubber stamps. Duh. But sometimes I like to think about WHY I love a certain stamp set. Sometimes it’s because of beautiful artwork (like yesterday’s post). But sometimes it’s because a stamp set is just so darn CLEVER! Like today’s post — with the Animal Talk stamp set (see it online).
Are you wondering where the clever part comes in? It’s in the punch line! The greetings are continued on the inside of the cards:
Can you read them? You can click on the photos for larger images, but the cat card says, *{cat talk for “thank you very much”} and the dog card says, *{dog talk for “Happy Birthday!”}. Tee hee! :)
These are really simple cards with the Animal Talk stamp set — and a fun technique: Direct to Paper! The directions are simple… pretty much 1 – 2 – 3!
- Open Classic Stampin’ Pad
- Apply Stampin’ Pad edge to card stock with a pulling/wiping motion
- Add more pads as desired, starting with lightest color and moving to darkest
Cool, huh? It’s an “oldie but goodie” technique and I thought of using it with this set when I saw this post from Ivonne, a German Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator (yes, Stampin’ Up! is in Germany). I couldn’t tell what she did at first to get the fun background, so I asked. Good thing she speaks English better than I speak German!
Talk about Express Stamping project ideas — these are perfect for stamping that suits your needs when you don’t have 2 hours to create a card. (check out some other Express Stamping ideas on my blog). Plus they’re a perfect masculine card idea – and sometimes those cards for guys are hard to find. (see more ideas)
Happy Stamping!
