500 episodes?? This calls for a special card – and believe me, you won’t guess the secret ingredient to today’s WOW card idea. The Snowy Scenes Suite Collection steals the show yet again, with the best elements for making a fun and very special kind of…well, kind of a shaker card? But not really??
Okay, here’s the reveal – it’s a Gel Shaker Card. We used to make these cards (like 20 years ago) with hair gel from the dollar store. But I’ve discovered an even better material to put inside the bag: dye-free after sun lotion. It’s basically aloe vera gel but without the fake green color. So head to the sunscreen section of your nearest pharmacy and grab a bottle of this super thick fantastically perfect gel for cards.
You’ll need a ziploc bag that seals completely, and fits behind the hidden panel of your shaker card. I used both a smaller bag that I found in my stash and a regular sandwich bag for two different cards. Each worked fine, but the smaller bag is easier to ‘hide’ behind the panel without as much folding.
Once all the pieces are cut and glued to the back, I like to cover the ‘guts’ of my Gel Shaker Cards with panels that hide the less pretty parts.
Tear Tape is the perfect glue for this application – it stays where you put it and it’s got a super strong adhesive.
You won’t be able to stop playing with these fun cards!
