I’m in love! Yup, with the new Expressions Thinlits Dies (see the thinlits online – 132171) in the Holiday Catalog! This simple card was created with the Magnificent Maple stamp (see it online – 131868) and the Orange Stampin’ Glitter (132206) with Heat & Stick Powder.
See the little speckles in the card background? I used my speckle stamp from the Paper Pumpkin Welcome Kit! That little stamp sure comes in handy!
I do have a couple of tips for you on the new Expressions Thinlits though. The first one is to be sure to use waxed paper between your card stock and the die. With the waxed paper in there, my card stock popped out like bread from a toaster! Okay, maybe not quite like that, but it was simple and smooth to get the card stock out of the die.
Here’s a visual to help you remember:
Want to see them in action? Here’s a great Video Tutorial from my LovenStamps YouTube channel. Like I said, I’m in love with these new thinlits!
Happy Stamping!

FUN card Meg! Love the mix of the tailored plaid and the glittery leaf! I’m definitely going to try both ideas. THANKS for the inspiration!
Hello Meg. Great tip on thw waxed paper. Does it also work for the Embosslits? I have s terrible time with my Butterflies
Hi Lorraine — That’s a good question. I imagine it might help. I usually use my Paper Piercing Tool if I have butterflies that stick in the Embosslit. Usually I only have 1 of the 6 butterflies that might stick though. The rest pop out if I gently flex the embosslit (emphasis on gently…).
So there is a trick – simply add a dryer sheet under the layers and then run the die through your machine. Every piece will come out easily. Or do the cut, and then run it again with a dryer sheet.
Also a great trick!
Great idea, works well
you don’t need to cut up your dryer sheet. if you just rub the sheet on your die and it works great. you can use the dryer sheet over and over.
Good tip, thanks!
