Hey Chick. I’m Learning to Watercolor with Pencils.

Favorite stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration catalog?  Mine is Hey Chick!  I know – it’s punny but I can’t resist.  I even used the stamp set to add a design to a clay mug that I made the other day… no pictures yet on that one, but I promise to share when it’s ready!

Did you know that you can get the Hey Chick stamp set for free?

Interested in Sale-A-Bration?  How about FREE STAMPS?  I thought so!  You can download the Sale-A-Bration catalog to check out all the choices.  To add them to your shopping cart in my online store, first shop for your purchased items, then use the link on the shopping cart page to add your free Sale-A-Bration selection(s) – one for every $50 in product you order!

The Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils were a dream on this card.  I used the Watercolor Paper here (it really lets the colors blend), and I added a shadow around the edge of the chicken when I was finished.  Can you see it?  Look really carefully – it’s gray.  The shadow around the edge helps the chicken pop off the page and look more dimensional.  Great trick for watercoloring in general.

Have you seen the Watercolor Pencils in action yet?  Here’s a video from Stampin’ Up! with some tips:

Finally… have you seen the new-ish Disney movie, Moana?  At our house we can nearly always be overheard singing songs from the Broadway show Hamilton.  Since Lin Manuel Miranda is one of our favorites, we had to see Moana shortly after it opened.  So much fun!  Anyway, this chicken reminds us of Moana’s sidekick, Heihei.
