How many times a week do you think, “wish I had time to get my stamps out”? Here’s a project that’s quick and elegant, and makes it easy to grab some card stock, a stamp and some ink and GET STARTED!
While stamping can be a fabulous Artisan Production (like my Retro Color Block card from this week), simple projects, or “Express Stamping“, are a great way to begin, whether you’re an expert stamper or just beginning. (see one of my favorite Express Stamping projects)
Try taking a terrific focal point stamp, like this Engraved Greetings thank you. Just stamp once in the middle of your note card, add a ribbon and a small embellishment and you’re set!
The size for this note card is a little smaller than the normal 1/2 sheet cards. These are 5 x 3-1/2″ and actually come pre-scored with envelopes from Stampin’ Up! (see them online). These smaller cards are perfect for simple elegant cards like this one.
I like to teach that there are Three Steps to Stamping:
- Stamp
- Layer
- Embellish
Whether a card is ‘express’ or ‘artisan’ you’ll nearly always see those 3 steps. Scroll down through some of the recent posts on my blog, and you’ll see these steps in action.
Next time you look at a card and think, “hmm… something is missing,” be sure to think about these steps to be sure you’ve included all three.
