DIY Trinket Box for Gift Cards+ with Stampin’ Up!®’s Last Chance Kintsugi Inspirations Suite

The art of appreciating imperfection and the value of resilience and healing – these are some of the principles of kintsugi. Kintsugi literally means ‘gold joinery’ so the Kintsugi Inspirations Designer Series Paper is right on target and the coordinating Inspiring Imperfections stamps and dies offer the perfect chance to add these pretty elements to our DIY Trinket Box. (And yes, it fits a gift card!) This half sheet box is an easy project that makes quick work from any card base or 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch piece of DSP.

The important question though… how many chocolates fit inside? 6. The answer is 6, although you could squeeze 8 if you really wanted.

The elements on the box top are easy to cut out – be sure to see how the dies cut these directly from the DSP in the video tutorial. Add more gold touches to the kintsugi trinket box with the Flower Accents. And the greeting, you inspire me, is perfect for the theme of connections and thoughtfulness.

And of course for final packaging and a really professional look, remember that the Stampin’ Up! clear envelopes are the perfect size for packing up these little boxes. Just slide the box in the envelope and peel the strip to custom fit the size of the box. Plus they’re safer in your purse as you’re headed to share these with a friend.

How many is too many?

But my absolute favorite is this last box. Remember that kintsugi is about the art of appreciating imperfection. I feel like a box assembled with the topper upside down is the absolute embodiment of the concept. So I didn’t take this one apart or fix it – it’s perfect just the way it is.
