Happy 4th of July!! Last week at Summer Scrap Camp (see more crafting/stamping with kids ideas) we created these fun home decor wall hangings to help celebrate the holiday this week. The kids (entering 5th – 10th grade) had a BLAST with this project and loved the chance to use lots of hot glue.
The Designer Rosette Die (125594) is one of my fav standbys for DIY medallions and rosettes of all sizes. The pieces from this die can make rosettes larger than a dinner plate, or smaller ones like the 7″ version we made here (see more Designer Rosette Die ideas).
There are so many fun tools used on this project – here’s a run-down of what we had available:
Designer Rosette Die (125594) – I cut out two lengths from 8.5 x 11″ paper and trimmed them in half the long way. Then I attached two half strips end-to-end and made the rosette.
Starburst Framelits Dies (132967) – I cut two of these, one to hot glue to the back of the rosette and one to hot glue to the front to hold everything together.
My Paper Pumpkin (from the June kit) – the pinwheels and the straw came from the kit that arrived in my mailbox last week! Paper Pumpkin is a monthly craft subscription (get it here). We never know ahead of time what each month’s surprise project will be — so much fun!
Little Letters Thinlits Dies (133730) – USA!! These little letters for the Big Shot are best used with the Magnetic Platform (130658) so they will stay where you place them. Just run your flag through the Big Shot and cut out the letters in your message!
Be the Star stamp set (135734) – Aren’t these sweet? And they match the Stars Thinlits Dies (133723) perfectly!
Really, a fun project that could be adapted to pretty much any occasion — think birthdays, anniversaries, the last day of school…
Happy 4th of July – and Happy Stamping!
