I love this layout, but making it special with the Gilded Leafing is what takes today’s card up and over the top of the scale.
Here’s how the Gilded Leafing background technique works:
Directions for the Gilded Leafing Die Cut Background Technique:
- Cut Basic Black cardstock layer twice – both pieces 3 3/4″ x 5″
- Die cut the top layer of Basic Black cardstock with the Flower Market Die (on sale through Nov 18) and set aside
- Cut a 3 3/4″ x 5″ section of Adhesive Sheet (thin adhesive trapped between two paper backing layers) and press onto full Basic Black layer
- Press die cut layer down onto adhsesive
- Press Gilded Leafing into the adhesive and brush away excess with a Blending Brush (video tutorial includes helpful tips)
See? Not too difficult – but incredibly striking!
Finish off the focal point with a butterfly from the Brilliant Wings Dies (also on sale through November 18) and a message from the Messages Die (sale, too!!).
