Tutorial on Shaker Cards: save your rubber!

Have you ever made a shaker card the old way…with double-stick foam tape? I always found it so frustrating to be limited to square boxes, or too tedious to cut enough pieces to make other shapes.

Guess what? There is a NEW way to make Shaker Cards!! You’re going to love it!!

You might be aware that the new Stampin’ Up! stamp sets are pre-die cut for us–they arrive all ready to assemble, no cutting necessary. Well don’t get rid of your Craft & Rubber Scissors yet, because they’re going to be handy when you make your Shaker Cards!

A couple of tips–consider storing your die-cut rubber scraps outside the stamp set box. I’ve found that sometimes having the extra layer of rubber squashed into the box can damage the stamps due to uneven compression.

And keep in mind that you only get 1 Shaker Card per image in a stamp set–those are going to be some special cards!

One of my Stamps in the Mail Club projects this month features this technique… sign up before the end of October if you’d like to join this round of the Club!
