It’s like one of those magazine pages made for 6 year olds (and I’m an expert at those ;-) Can you spot what’s wrong with the stamp in this picture?
Did you get it? Yes, the stamp is filthy with ink stains on the corners, but (gasp) that doesn’t bother me.
The “what’s wrong” is that there are both a sticker and a stamp on the same side of the block of wood! Wait a minute here… isn’t the rubber part supposed to go on the opposite side of the wood block?
Well not in this case. The Something Sweet stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog has a fabulous circle image that can be used in so many ways. But when the stamp set arrives, the center part (the solid rubber circle) is die-cut to pull out, so that the circle image doesn’t catch ink in the center and smudge.
**TIP** Instead of throwing the center part away, I turned my block of wood over and mounted it on the back side. On the sample card above, I used the solid circle to make the large solid circles in the background layer.
Cool, eh?! So take a look at your spare rubber pieces–they’re not all destined for the rubbish bin. (Stampin’ Up! even uses them to pave playgrounds ;-)
BTW, I’ve actually had this stamp set hidden away since FOREVER–it was one of the gifts I received at the Stampn’ Up! Founder’s Circle Retreat way back in October. If you missed my posts on that fun event, you’ll want to be sure to check back and see them!
