Silhouette Circle Secrets – How to Make Partial Die Cuts, Stampin’ Up!® Scenic Coast Suite

Are you in love with the Sunset Coast stamps and dies – specifically the pretty circle silhouette scenes? With the amazing color in the background from the Scenic Coast Specialty Designer Series Paper, the silhouettes pack an even greater punch. Today’s fun fold card features a tag front layout but with a twist – using the Stylish Shapes Dies to create partial die cuts around the Sunset Coast lighthouse die cut image.

The trick in making partial die cuts is in placing the die on the Stampin’ Cut & Embossing Machine. Either the platform or the plates will work, but the idea is to eliminate any pressure on the part of the die that you DON’T want cut.

The video tutorial goes through the partial die cut technique step by step. It’s a handy technique for lots of fun fold cards, and it’s a perfect way to cut a pretty border on the bottom of this Sunset Coast tag front card.
