See BOTH SIDES of Pretty Papers – DSP Card Base, Stampin’ Up!®’s NEW Painterly Pears Suite

The Painterly Pears Designer Series Paper is one of my favorites in a looong time – such pretty deep colors and beautiful images. But what happens when you love both sides of a paper? It’s SO painful to cover one up by gluing it to another layer. That’s where the DSP Card Base comes in handy. I’ve made these cards for years (see the #DSPCardBase tag on my blog), but it’s been a little while, so you’ll want to check out my video tips for making these cards work smoothly.

The DSP is a little bit lighter than the fabulous Stampin’ Up! cardstock, so there are some tricks to layering that give the DSP card base a little more stability. First, be sure to have a full layer inside the card. You’ve got the pattern showing nicely already, so covering up a little is okay with me. Then second, don’t cut away the extra 1″ from the front – use it (and layer it extra) so that it add extra stability to the front of the card, too.
