First of all, it’s time to make friends with your Paper Trimmer if you haven’t already. This tool is packed with little features that you may not have noticed – and I’ll show you how to make the most of them with our airplane Stair Step Card today. If Stair Step Cards have intimidated you, today is also the day that you feel empowered to make one! I promise they’re not all that difficult (if you have the secrets).
For cutting and scoring in our Adventurous Sky card, you’ll want to follow the steps in the video tutorial. The printable PDF is available as part of LovenStamps Monthly Tutorials for May (place any size order with me online to get access to this exclusive perk). But I’ve also shared the details in the video, which you’ll want to keep handy as you’re making your first Stair Step Card.
To decorate the card, I like to use panels of Designer Series Paper, cut to size from coordinating Take to the Sky DSP.
Be sure to make the most of the design features in this Take to the Sky Suite Collection – especially the fun Industrial Trinkets that look like little pop rivets. They’re easiest to attach with Mini Glue Dots.
Finally, take note of both types of dies included with the Adventurous Sky stamp and die bundle – both the ones that cut out stamped shapes (like the clouds and tiny plane in today’s card) as well as the ones that cut out extra design elements (like the paper pieced airplane with propeller).
As a last accent, I love the shape dies from Everyday Details Dies since the dotted edge feature reminds me of industrial rivet holes. Another design element that adds interest to our fun card.
