Are you feeling a little Christmas-y yet this season? It’s time to break out the holiday banners, including this sweet new decor featuring the Sweetest Star Punch and stamp set. A great all-purpose star punch, plus Santa and Mrs. Claus images to jazz it up for the holidays. Plus I’ve got Deckled Rectangle Die tricks for making perfect banner pieces (hint – watch out for the big DON’T tips that I’m sharing today!).

Stampin Blends make for excellent coloring on these fun images, plus I’ve got tips on dimensional lettering (puffy letters giving anyone else retro 80’s vibes??) using the Alphabet A La Mode Dies and Foam Adhesive Sheets. Hint – roll through your die cut machine a few times to be sure they’re all nicely cut.
I made this ribbon around 30″ but you could add or subtract depending on how you’re going to hang your decor. One quick and easy tip I forgot to mention in the video – it’s super quick to just pop a Stampin Dimensional on the back of each end of the ribbon to hang this banner. The Dimensionals have plenty of sticky-ness to hold the weight of the banner, and after the holidays it’s easy to rub away the dimensional residue for a quick cleanup. I stick the banners to the wood cabinets in my studio this way.
Ready to hear the DON’T that you must absolutely avoid?? Be careful when you’re cutting the banner shapes with the Deckled Rectangles. The dies MUST NOT overlap the sides of the cutting plates, or else they’ll get squashed (and ruined) when you run the plates through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Keep the dies inside the plates and you’re home free to add those perfect banner tail shapes to each panel!!
