You already know I shore-ly love the Friends of the Ocean Suite with its gorgeous colors. But I have more FABULOUS news for you! If you’re a color fan like me, then you’re going to want to pull out your Blending Brushes and create custom colored ombre sea creatures with the 2 step Ocean Friends stamp set. And let’s make it extra fun with a Reverse Panel Fun Fold Card.

But why ink in just one color for the background layer? Check out the differences between these two stamped crabs. Same stamps, just adding the trick of Ombre Inking with Blending Brushes.
The ombre inking process is like magic. Think of it as adding color, removing a little color, then adding back more color in a different shade. The video tutorial includes details on how to create this Ombre Inking effect. Here are a few of my favorite color combinations:
- Peach Pie – Pumpking Pie
- Flirty Flamingo – Calypso Coral
- Petal Pink – Melon Mambo* (for bonus points add in some Peach Pie!)
For a little extra texture, use the Soft Waves 3D Embossing Folder. You don’t even have to texture the whole card. Try this trick to cut a panel, add texture and then adhere to the card base.
