Christmas Card Mash-Up – 3×4 and Z Fold Cards with Stampin’ Up!®’s North Pole Delivery Suite

Together at last! My 2 most-used card layouts, a 3×4 DSP Card and a Z-Fold Card – this time featured together for a Christmas card that you’ll make over and over again (each one different, but simple to create in batch stamping). The characters in the North Pole Delivery DSP – badgers, cats, dogs, squirrels – all want to help you share holiday greetings. The background paper patterns offset these sweet critters perfectly.

What’s a 3×4 DSP Card? This is a card layout where the designer series paper is cut to 3 x 4 inches – especially handy since a 12×12 sheet can be cut into 12 sections, all ready to be made into cards. Then cut a cardstock mat layer at 3-1/4 x 4-1/4 (easy to cut 6 of these from a single sheet of cardstock). Mount each of the DSP pieces on a cardstock mat and add to a card front.

The Stampin’ Up! artists have done so much of the design job for you already – just add a focal point and greeting (thank you Perennial Postage Dies). The Christmas Words Hybrid Embossing Folder makes for an excellent focal point message, too – pick from any of the 17 greetings that are die cut and embossed in one run through the Stampin Cut & Emboss Machine.

What’s a Z-Fold Card? This clever layout has no complicated scoring – just fold a card base in half and then fold the front flap back again and you’re ready to decorate. The bonus of a z-fold card is that the front of the card still shows when the card is opened – so you get double impact of your card front design work. And instead of a full size mat, combining with a 3×4 DSP feature element is simple.
