Card Layout Unlocked, Diagonal DSP Split Front Cards, Stampin’ Up!®’s Jolly Delivery Suite

Did you love the Split Front Diagonal Card I shared earlier in October? Today’s version steps up that design for the North Pole Delivery Suite with the addition of a dry embossed step and the Forever Plaid Embossing Folder. When you love your DSP and want to have it both inside and outside your card, the diagonal DSP split is a perfect card layout.

To create the effect: hold two layers together, both 3 3/4 x 5 inches, and cut a diagonal line from about 2/3 across the top to about 1/3 across the bottom. Honestly? Don’t fret too much about exactly where to cut the diagonal – just get it from the top to the bottom and call it done!

Split the diagonally cut papers and mix/match them so one pair will be the inside and the other the card front. I like to cover the diagonal on the front with a strip of gold foil, like in this Jolly Delivery card, but you can skip that (as I did on the inside) or use a strip of another contrasting color or specialty paper.

On this version of the card, I used the Forever Plaid Embossing Folder to add texture to the layer before adding to the card front. If I were trying to pick an embossing folder or two to add to my collection to cover as many bases as possible, Forever Plaid would hands-down be one of my choices. The plaid is fun, applies to so many themes and can even be used for a variety of fun techniques.

Finally, the elements on the front of this card feature the Perennial Postage Dies and the Christmas Words Hybrid Embossing Folder (check out how to do the inked embossing in Maker Mornings with Meg Episode 580 – available on my LovenStamps Blog).
