Spring! Yay! The sun is shining (here, at least) and the bulbs are blooming. Sure makes a person want to make some tulip accents for springtime scrapbooking pages! This is where the Build A Blossom stamp set (see it online) comes in handy.
Sure, it looks like it’s designed for ‘flower’ shaped flowers, but it turns out to make a pretty cute tulip, too.
For the square accents, I used the Square Lattice Die (see it online) for Big Shot, and added them as a subtle tone-on-tone effect. Since the colors match, the lattice pieces make great accents, but they don’t take away from the pictures.
TECHNIQUE TIP — Build A Blossom Tulips:
- Stamp and punch three of the smallest petal in Melon Mambo ink on Melon Mambo card stock.
- Start with the center petal and add adhesive to the front. Add the next 2 petals to the left and right to form the tulip. Bases of the petals should meet at the bottoms.
- Stamp and punch the large narrow leaf in Wild Wasabi ink on Wild Wasabi card stock. Cut in half up the middle to form the 2 leaves.
- Trim a narrow strip of the Wild Wasabi card stock to form a stem. Attach stem to back of tulip and add leaves.
Don’t forget to order online today or tomorrow, since the Build A Blossom stamp set and coordinating Blossom Petal Punch (see it online) are in the Occasions Mini Catalog that ends on Saturday, April 30th!
Happy Stamping!
