It’s a jungle out there! Know someone who could use some encouragement? The “You are fierce” greeting from the new Wild Cats stamp set is a terrific greeting to remind a friend of their strength. Choose from the tigers in the stamp set or cut from the DSP and pair the images with the new Animal Print Embossing Folder – either way, animal prints are a fabulous fun trend. Discover them!
Plus you’ll want to add the stamped images to both your envelope and the inside of your card.

Special Tips for the Wild Cats Card Idea:
The In the Wild Designer Series Paper (DSP) includes images to complement the stamps and dies PLUS images that perfectly match the Big Cats dies. In each package of DSP there are 8 tigers that can be cut out with the dies if you’d like, and of course you always have the option to fussy-cut anything you’d like.
When using the Animal Print Embossing Folder (or any embossing folder), you’ll want to be careful of the hinge in the folder. Never tuck your cardstock all the way into the folder – it’s important to respect the hinge and keep the paper away. Since there is so much pressure at the hinge, the added layer of paper can add unneeded stress.
The video tutorial includes a special note about emboss folders, plus tips on creating the proper sandwich (layer of plates) for this folder.
Another helpful tip… when stamping the tiger, I find it easier to stamp the head outline first, THEN add the solid body. I just think it’s easier to see through the stamp and block to line up the elements. Of course in the video tutorial I made a little error…but I think you’ll find my mistake helpful!
Finally, I’m excited to share a special tip (get it?) on using the Take Your Pick Tool to add these Matte Black Dots to the card front. My friend Betsy Crider shared the tip at our demonstrator team meeting on Friday, and my mind was blown. And then Mary Ellen Stites coined the term for this technique: The Slide and Slap.
What’s the Slide & Slap? Just the best tip I’ve ever seen for adding quick rhinestones to a project. Like I said, my mind was blown.
The basic idea is the press the putty tip down onto your rhinestone or dot, and while pushing down, slide it along the plastic backing. As you slide, pick up the embellishment — it comes up so easily! Then just slap it on the card wherever you’d like.
In the video tutorial, I’ll also share some extra tips – complete with cutting directions and hints on how to add layers to complement the layout.
