Decor Elements for art projects

So who knew? Decor Elements are NOT for walls only! I’ve seen some great ideas for where to use them… car windows, patio doors…and now, picture frames!

Check out this project that was presented at Convention last week by Brent Steele, Stampin’ Up! artist extraordinaire.

080810-frame-artBrent started out with a double-glass frame from a department store. He put a layer of the new Urban Garden Designer Series Paper between the panes, and the white swirlies on the top of the glass are the Organic Elements Decor Elements.

And there is even stamping on this project…Brent stamped a small flower on the Decor Elements in several places and heat embossed it with White Embossing Powder to make it stand out. He cut out one more flower and attached it to the front of the frame for an extra dimensional effect.

080810-frame-art-MEGThis month at Stamp Club (we meet this week–Monday, Tuesday and Thursday) we’ll be making a Decor Elements frame as one of our projects. The cute frames are from IKEA, and we’re using the letters from the small Happiness Decor Element, along with the Define Your Life stamp set. I love this stamp set–it makes every letter in a package of chipboard useful!
