Big Shot Baby Shower Banner

Did you know that Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators have Wish Lists, too? Well, at least *I* do! And guess what… it’s my birthday tomorrow, and I’m getting the Big Shot Serif Essentials Alphabet and the Pennant Bigz XL die for my birthday and Christmas, all together!! I’m so excited…

My fabulous friend, Mary Ellen Stites, was kind enough to cut these pieces for me, since my Big Shot dies are on a UPS truck between here and Salt Lake City. I have a Baby Shower to attend on Saturday, and I wanted to make a special gift for the mom-to-be. So Laura, if you’re reading this, don’t look yet ;-)

Isn’t it CUTE?! So STINKIN’ CUTE!! I had so much fun creating this. The Designer Series Paper is Banbury (Pink Pirouette and Certainly Celery plaid) and the Chocolate Chip makes a great accent.

The little danglies (is that a word?) are made from the Scallop Circles that are part of the Pennant Die. I used Sticky Strip to glue together 4 of them, with the White Taffeta Ribbon trapped in the middle. And I strung the clear crystal bead from the Pretties Kit on the ribbon by cutting a super-sharp point on the ribbon, then threading it through the bead. Kudos to Shelli Gardner for teaching us how to do this during a Stampin’ Up! event :-)

Finally, if you’re really paying close attention, you might notice that there is a “Y” missing in ‘BABY’. Don’t worry, I’ll add it before the shower :-)

And here is the die so you can see how the pieces work. The cardstock or paper is folded in half, then run through the Big Shot with the die. And you can see all the fun Scallop Circles that pop out, too! Plus there are 2 sizes of Pennants–I layered them for my project, or you could make different sized banners, or use them between the larger pennants.

In any case, these banners are SO popular right now–I’m excited to have created my own. It’s going to be hard to give away! Good thing there are some other occasions coming up that I can celebrate with banners… my husband’s birthday, my son’s 1-year birthday, Thanksgiving, Christmas, my daughter’s 5-year birthday…the arrival of my very OWN Pennant and Serif Essentials Dies… ;-)
