4th Annual Spring Into Stamping Event

090508springintostampingThis past weekend I co-hosted our demonstrator group’s annual Spring Into Stamping Event. We usually have about 100 demonstrators join us for Friday night events (a Shoebox Swap and a Leadership Share) and an all-day Saturday stamping gala.

This year we had 97 demonstrators attend, and to give you an idea of what goes on, there were 6 of us on the leadership team for the event, plus another 25 demonstrators who helped with Make N Takes, demonstrating during our Demo Fair, registration, lunches, audio-visuals, and just about everything else.

090508daisiescandydishHere are a couple of my favorite projects from the Demo Fair. This first is by Linda Yearsley, a demonstrator in my downline. She used the Daisies #2 Big Shot Die (like in my Daisy Tag Video Tutorial) and the Raspberry Tart Designer Series Paper (same as my box yesterday!) The little swirl on the side is also cut from the Raw Vinyl you can order through Stampin’ Up! for your Big Shot.

090507twosidedribbonHere’s another great technique that was shared. Sue Bell, also from my group, showed several techniques using Stampin’ Pastels. She said that the double-sided ribbon was everyone’s favorite though… Just use Whisper White Grosgrain Ribbon, chalk up a Sponge Dauber, then rub two different colors on two different sides of the ribbon! Looks great on knots and bows!

Here is another of my downline members, Laura Schmidt. We all always hope that Laura wins a door prize because she gets SO excited–I can practically hear her screaming now ;-)

090507beadduocardAnd here is another favorite project, shared by Carol Payne. Did you know that you can order Sticky Cuts Sheets (like Sticky Strip but in a 12×12″ sheet) from Stampin’ Up! and then run it through your Big Shot? Well you CAN! And even better, then you can layer them here on a punched Scallop Circle and add both the Pink Bead Duo beads AND a Clear Rhinestone Brad. Yum, I do love bling :-) And of course she used the Textured Apricot Appeal cardstock, which you can order as part of the Buy 3, Get 1 FREE special during May!

Thanks to everyone who was part of putting this event together. We couldn’t do it without everyone’s help! And I can’t wait til next year–this event energizes me each time we hold it. Oh, and by the way, you can join me next year if you’d like to sign up to become a Demonstrator! (Did I mention the $75 Starter Kit in May? ;-)
