Wedding Ideas: A Guest Book to Remember

Wedding Guest Book Idea: Include envelopes to collect special wishes instead of just names

Are you headed to any weddings this summer?  I wanted to share a special Guest Book idea that my friend Becky Strater created for her niece and nephew earlier this summer. I think it’s a terrific idea!

The bride asked Becky to come up with something “different”, and Becky thought it would be fun to let guests leave a short message or wish for the bride and groom, rather than just signing their names.  The book will be a special keepsake long after the cake is cut and the bouquet has been tossed.

Wedding Guest Book: Puzzle Piece Resist Technique (with tutorial)The cover was created with the Puzzle Piece Resist Technique that I shared on my blog this spring (get the free printable tutorial).  The butterfly stamp is one of my favorites (see Swallowtail online – 129216).

The covers of the book were created by covering heavy tag board with Designer Series Paper.  Bind the pages and covers together with a ribbon or with 1″ binder rings like Becky did here.

You might want to leave some instructions for guests along with the book. The text on the sign with the guest book reads:

Guest Book Directions

Take an envelope which has a card in it.
Write a message, a wish or some good advice.
Sign it and put the card back in the envelope.
Put the envelope in a pocket in our guest book for us to enjoy later.

Thanks for making our memories last longer.

Then just make up some little envelopes or make it easy and purchase the Mini Square Envelopes (see them online). You can stamp or add washi tape to decorate the mini envelopes to coordinate with your guest book.

I hope your special celebration goes beautifully this summer!

Happy Stamping!
