My Favorite Sports Scrapbook Solution: MDS

I don’t know about you, but I find it tricky to scrapbook kids sports photos.  Usually they’re taken from 500 yards away (okay, maybe not quite that bad) and the kids are so tiny that you can’t see their faces.

Plus if you have a 1st grader, you might not actually see all that much participation on the part of  your child, so the fabulous moments to capture on film are few and far between.

So when I caught this celebratory moment for my daughter at soccer this fall, I was thrilled.

Here are the top 3 reasons that I love My Digital Studio for this page (it’s just after New Year’s… time to make top # lists, right?):

  1. The photo of Abby with her arms in the air: so simple to blow up and crop to the right size with MDS.  I didn’t have to get the photo printed at 8 x 10″ to crop her to the right size for the layout!
  2. The background paper: I think I tried about 6 different papers before coming up with this perfect one from the 2011 Notable Desktop Calendar Digital Download (see it here).  And it only took me 4 seconds to test out each paper!
  3. The Athletic Department images: Yup, another Digital Download (see it here), and since the ‘stamps’ are digital, I could make one larger for my title, and color them however I wanted.

In case you hadn’t guessed, this is another page from my 2011 family calendar (the one I’m making as an 8×8″ book).

Here is the calendar page to match.  I coordinated the text, background paper, etc. to go with the scrapbook page.  And since there was extra space at the bottom, I couldn’t resist including a blown-up portion of the photo from the other page.
