Life is busy at our house! Long before I started stamping, I was a big scrapbooker. I still take time to scrap my family memories here and there, but the biggest portion of my memories are collected with digital scrapbook pages now.
Why I love My Digital Studio vs. traditional scrapbooking
We’re paper crafters at heart, right? We love the feel of ribbon in our fingers and the papery smell of new card stock packages. There are some things that just come across more perfectly via a digital page. Here are some of my fav reasons to pick an MDS page over a ‘real’ one:
No Mess! Who likes to clean up the dining room table after a scrapping session? On my computer, there’s nothing to put away and I can pull out my latest project with the click of a button.
Picture Perfect photo sizing! With a digital page, I can make my photo as big as I want, and highlight a face that might have been only 1″ x 1″ on a printed shot. The smiling face in the frame above is a full 6″ x 6″ when printed. If I’d pre-printed my photos and then sat down to make a traditional page, then I’d be stuck with a little 3 x 3″ version of that happy grin.
Share with everyone! Send an email of your page to your relatives out of town, post it on Facebook, use the page in a printed book and then copy it again into the calendar you’re making for family Christmas presents. There’s no limit.
Don’t get me wrong — I still love traditional scrapbooking! But I could go on for another 15 reasons that I love digital scrapbooking.

How to get started with Digital Scrapbooking
Are you ready to try it? I’d recommend starting with a fun page layout that uses a variety of your photos. I just posted a Summer Possibilities free MDS Tutorial last week, and it would be a perfect starting project.
After that, try exploring some of my other digital tutorials or digital video tutorials. And if you have specific questions, drop me a note!
Happy Stamping!
