I don’t know about you, but I see cupcakes EVERYWHERE these days! They’re on clothing, in bakeries, on rubber stamps, on the plate in front of me (oops, better not eat and type–and those are supposed to be for tomorrow’s New Catalog Open House anyway!!).
This was a card everyone made at Stamp Club this month. (yes, you can join Stamp Club!! both “in person” and Long-Distance clubs are forming now–email me for details!!)
The card uses the new Crazy For Cupcakes (yum!) stamp set on page 64 in the new catalog, along with the Cupcakes Stampin’ Around wheel on the inside. The card is Riding Hood Red and Pirouette Pink, and the Designer Series Paper is Bella Rose.
The inside is the cool part though… the cupcakes jump out at you!! No, you can’t eat them, but they’re so cute you’ll want to…or at least I do ;-) The spirals are so easy to do. Thanks to Marlayne Hardy for demoing a similar card to this at Stampin’ Up!’s National Convention this summer!
Just start with a circle of cardstock (here I used the Scallop Circle Punch) and cut it into a spiral, starting at the edge and cutting all the way to the center. Dab some glue (love the Tombow Multiadhesive) on the end of the spiral and stick it down on the bottom of the open card. Smoosh (the technical term) the spiral down so it looks like a Scallop Punch again, then add glue to the center and gently close the card. The top of the spiral will MAGICALLY glue itself to the right place on the top of the card. Okay, it’s not magic, but it SEEMS like magic!! Then add the cupcakes.
