How’s Your Halloween Candy Supply?
Whew! I think we’re finally recovered from the excitement of Halloween, especially since I think our celebrations went on for nearly a week! On Friday, October 28th, I had a couple of great helpers (thanks guys!) and we stamped with kids at the Halloween Fun Fest co-sponsored by the Champaign Park District and the Urbana Park District.
During the course of the evening we stamped with about 500 kids…I mean vampires, princesses, even an Angry Bird or two and a girl in a hot air balloon!
Those Stampin’ Around Wheels sure got a workout. Each child took home their own personalized bag, perfect for Trick-Or-Treat candy, special lunches or just regular treasures.
Of course at the end of the evening I clicked my Ruby Red Slippers (courtesy of Stampin’ Up! glitter, of course!) and we went home.
Hope your Halloween was stamping-ly wonderful, too!

Did you see my post on Saturday? I know I don’t usually post on weekends, but WOW, that was a pretty fun reason to be posting! Not only did I spend the weekend at a Stampin’ Up! But more about my weekend. Wow… nearly 48 full hours to craft, create and hang out with friends. Here’s a picture of my work space and my friend Shirley Casey (yes, I like to use every square inch of my table… and not necessarily neatly…)
One of the talented demonstrators in our group, Carol Walsh, made a cute Halloween treat box for each of us. Here’s mine, which is perfect. My 3-1/2 year old son is gaga over Ninjago (the Lego skeleton guys) and he thinks this is the coolest stamping project ever. PLUS, do you like the mouth? Carol made it with the Spiral Punch (see it online), which is on the CLEARANCE RACK right now, for only $4.99!
If you haven’t checked the new Stampin’ Up! Clearance Rack items added this weekend, you’ll want to head over there right now. Supplies are limited and as items sell out, they’re no longer available.
Here’s a sampling of what you’ll find:
- Bitty Bat Punch: was $15.95 now $6.99
- Cute Christmas 8×8 Album: was $14.95 now $5.99

It’s A Wrap: Halloween Spirit
One of my favorite new stamp set styles from the new Stampin’ Up! Catalog and the Holiday Mini Catalog is the “It’s A Wrap” style, perfectly sized to stamp and then (*surprise!*) WRAP around a piece of candy. There are several little chocolate bar types that fit the images, so take your pick of varieties. (see a sample) But did you know that you can use the It’s A Wrap stamp set for card, too?
Here’s a great “Express Stamping” card using the It’s A Wrap Holidays stamp set. This set has 7 greetings for holidays throughout the year, so you’ll find it handy all year long. (see it online)
This card is SO simple… all you need is a Basic Black ink pad (see it online) and a 1″ Circle Punch (see it online) and a package of the Getting Started Assorted Card Stock (see it online).
I’d also add a pack of Stampin’ Dimensionals (aka Poppy Uppy Thingys – see them online).
The little card size is 2-3/4″ square, which is perfect for these stamps. Keep an eye out for more designs to come!
Happy Stamping!

Last week I promised a Wicked Cool doggie treat to one lucky commenter (is ‘commenter’ a word?) on my Wicked Cool doggie treat post. Did you see the project?
Anyway, the winners are Diana Fisher & her lucky pup–thanks Diana!

Sweet Treat Suite: Batty for You
Okay, they treat isn’t ‘sweet’ unless you consider the design. The treat is actually salty and buttery — microwave popcorn!
These are the individual mini bags packaged for Halloween. While the graphics on the package are cute, they can certainly benefit from a Stampin’ Up! update, right? Add the Batty for You stamp set and the Spider Web Impressions Folder and you’re set!
To add the texture to the simple card stock wrapper, I used the Spider Web Textured Impressions Folder from the Holiday Mini Catalog (did you see my Video Tutorial on using it with the Candy Wrapper Die?).
The medallion accent is done with the Batty For You stamp set (love that set!) and a set of punches: Scallop Circle, 1-3/8″ Circle and 1-1/4″ Circle.
Theme colors are from my favorite Halloween suite:
- Pumpkin Pie
- Rich Razzleberry
- Old Olive
- Basic Black

A Howlin’ Halloween for Pets & Kids
Wow, Halloween is nearly here!! I don’t know about you, but we are very much looking forward to Halloween at our house. Since the kids start talking about their costume possibilities around June 3rd, we have a lot of lead-up time.
This Thursday we have a fun event here in Mahomet, Illinois: the Howlin’ Halloween Trick or Treat Party for Kids & Pets! You can bring your kids & pets to this fun evening (5 to 7 pm) and let them wander around the booths for craft projects & treats. Probably the craft projects are more for the kids, but you never know
I’ll be there with my Stampin’ Up! booth, and I hope to see you! Here are the dog treats I’m working on: (These Milkbones are huge! Small dog owners can break them up, right?)
I used the Two Tags die for the Big Shot (did you see me use it yesterday, too?) and punched a piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock. The stamp set is Wicked Cool. These are so simple! Just diecut, stamp, punch, add a ribbon and you’re set!
Here are the masses of doggie treats in production.
Hope to see you on Thursday afternoon — be sure to bring a donation for Mahomet Helping Hands or something for one of the local animal charities!
***BLOG CANDY ALERT!!*** Do you have a doggie at home that could use a Howlin’ Halloween Treat? Leave me a Halloween comment on this post about your pooch and I’ll do a virtual drawing on November 1st and send the winner a Wicked Cool dog treat.

Help for Halloween Parties: Batty For You
Do you have parties or meetings in the next couple of weeks? If you’re taking a snack, why not make it special?
These little toothpicks took me about 20 minutes to stamp and assemble for a women’s club meeting last evening. Yes, of course a few friends teased me about my Martha-Stewart-ness, but it was worthwhile. It’s not as if my kids have these toothpicks in their school lunches every day, right? Although I do have a few left picks over now…
Really, aren’t they sweet? Super simple too! Just punch, layer, add Stampin’ Dimensionals and stick the toothpick onto one of the dimensionals between the card stock layers.
Here are the supplies you need:
- 1-3/4″ Scallop Circle Punch (the smaller one–119854)
- 1-3/8″ Circle Punch
- 1-1/4″ Circle Punch
- Batty for You stamp set
- Ink pads in Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie & Old Olive
- Card stock in Basic Black, Whisper White & Pumpkin Pie
- Stampin’ Dimensionals
Did you see the pumpkin in the background, too? I can’t believe I haven’t blogged about it yet! So here goes… the spider is from the Decor Elements Spooky Thing (I have a spider on my cell phone too!). And the black jewels are Stampin’ Up!, too–I even have a Video Tutorial on how to get them from the backing paper to your project without losing the perfect swirls.
Whew… so many fun ideas, and Halloween is coming! Don’t miss the other Halloween ideas that I’ve posted recently. And if you’re feeling short on time to place an order and get Halloween supplies, remember that you CAN expedite shipping and receive your order within a day or two. Or start thinking now–all these ideas can be adapted easily for Christmas!

Simple Stamping, Better with CANDY
Did you see my simple cards from yesterday? The idea is to put together some “simple stamping” projects that don’t require 10 punches, 4 Big Shot dies and 7 ink colors.
The Every Little Bit stamp set is my set of choice for these projects, since it’s only 1 set but has images for 28 occasions. The little bats are perfect for Halloween projects, especially if you want a stamp set that includes Halloween but you can use all year long.
Here I’ve made some of the chocolate treats using the Petal Card Punch. (click here for the directions on making these simple treasures)
Of course a little BLING is always a good thing, so I’ve added Shimmer Brads from the Brights collection to jazz up our treats a bit. And the little oval punch is perfectly sized for the Petal Card Punch treats. It’s the new 3/4″ x 15/16″ Oval Punch from the Holiday Mini Catalog. Just pop those little bats up with a Stampin’ Dimensional and they’re too cute!
