Something for Christmas: Magnet Clips
Did you see my Something for Christmas card the other day? Definitely one of my favorite stamps right now! Here’s a quick and sweet project that would be a fun gift for a friend or a coworker this holiday season. Who wouldn’t want these sweet photo clips decorating their refrigerator this season? I used the In Color Stampin’ Write Markers (check them out) to color only the ornaments from the Something for Christmas stamp (see it online).
The clips came in the clear plastic box from a big-box store and I’ll add magnets to the clips on the back. I added the decorations using Stampin’ Up! supplies:
- Silver Glimmer paper
- 1 1/4″ Circle Punch
- 1 3/8″ Circle Punch
- Scallop Circle Punch
- Whisper White, Calypso Coral and Wisteria Wonder Card Stock
- Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon
Next time you’re browsing the clearance rack at a store, think about what you can use as a base for your Stampin’ Up! supplies.
Happy Stamping!

Convention is coming: sneak peek
Here’s a quick post, since I already mentioned that I’m behind for getting ready!
Each year I’ve made Bag Tags for the demonstrators in our group, since Stampin’ Up! gives us a fabulous bag each year, but then we all have exactly the same bag.
Solution? Bag tags! Here’s a sneak peek, since I’m handing them out tomorrow as we arrive for Convention.
Yes, that’s the new Fabric on those butterflies, cut from the butterfly big shot die!
Big Shot Cork Coasters: Happy Housewarming
A couple weeks ago I received an email from a demonstrator in my group who was having trouble with a project she’d seen in the Stampin’ Success demonstrator magazine. I admitted that I hadn’t really looked at the article about the Cork Coasters, but agreed that I could check it out to try and help solve her problem.
Long story short: we figured out her problem and I got to try a really fabulous project that has been a huge hit at my Workshops this month! Here they are, all wrapped up with a bow:
The fun part is seeing how they all go together. They’re so simple!
Pick out a Designer Series Paper (I used Sunny Garden here — I’m going to miss it when it retires TOMORROW!). I cut a stack of supplies to 5 x 5″ and pulled out my Scallop Circle Die (the big one).
Set up each coaster stack before you cut with the Big Shot. Here’s the stack:
- Stampin’ Up! cork sheet (see it online)
- Big Shot Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet (see it online)
- Designer Series Paper of your choice
- Big Shot Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet
- Window Sheet (see it online)
Stick everything down (the adhesive sheets between the layers hold all the pieces together). Then just cut with the Big Shot Scallop Circle Die.
These make an easy custom hostess gift if you’re headed to a friend’s for dinner, or a quick accent for a wedding shower gift in the bride’s colors.
Plus I just love that helping another Stampin’ Up! demonstrator introduced me to this project–I might have missed it otherwise! If you’d like to be part of my Stampin’ Up! family too, be sure to check the details on my website!
Happy Stamping!

Two Tags Thank You: Touch of Kindness
It’s a Sneak Peek! Yesterday I mentioned another thank you gift for our Spring Into Stamping demonstrator training event helpers (see yesterday’s gift idea). I used a new stamp set here–Touch of Kindness–that will debut in the upcoming Summer Mini Catalog on May 1st.
I used the Two Tags die again for the Big Shot, and the little rick-rack trim at the bottom is from another die — the Tasteful Trims die.
The butterfly is from the Beautiful Wings Embosslit (love it!) and the flower is the Sneak Peek from Touch of Kindness. Love how it coordinates with the Scallop Circle Punch! Finally, the greeting is from the fabulous Word Play stamp set.
Colors are Bashful Blue, Peach Parfait and Pear Pizzazz, plus Naturals Ivory card stock.
Happy Stamping!

No Grandmas Harmed By These Reindeer
I know there’s that song… but not to worry, these candy cane reindeer are completely grandma-friendly. Plus they’re a quick project for last-minute stocking stuffers!
The reindeer are created from the Two Tags die (see it here) for the Big Shot Die Cut Machine.
Thanks to my friend Cathy Roy for the idea on this project!
The steps are simple:
- Punch two Two Tags Die pieces with the Big Shot
- Tape two candy canes together
- Place the candy canes between the two tags, then staple both sides & the bottom
- Glue on two googly eyes plus the pompom nose
- Add a piece of Satin Real Red Ribbon towards the top
- Enjoy for the holidays!
I have found a great variety of uses for this Big Shot die lately… be sure to check out my last Christmas Candy Project and then my Halloween Dog Treat project from October.
Merry Christmas!

Gift for the Guy Who Has Everything
**Order TODAY for delivery before Christmas! available for Snowflake Tins with or without Stampin’ Up! Gift Certificates**
It’s an age-old question… is it taking the ‘easy’ way out to get a gift card for someone? Or does it just make sense, because then they can get whatever they want?
Personally, I’m happy with either one (just so you know, just in case you wanted to get me something for Christmas still this year).
But who could possibly complain when their gift card comes in one of these REALLY cute holiday Snowflake Tins? They were created with the Big Shot Die Cut Machine and the Snowflakes #2 Die (see it here).
The snowflakes are cut from actual soda cans (yup, that Big Shot can cut all sorts of things, including aluminum!). Pictured here are Diet Coke cans, Mountain Dew cans and A&W Root Beer cans.
If you’re still looking for a gift (for yourself or another stamper, or even a stamper wanna-be), you can get a gift certificate!
- Good for Stampin’ Up! products or any of my classes or kits, in any denomination
- Order today (send me an email and I’ll respond promptly), you can still have it on your doorstep for Christmas!
- Shipping is free (my gift to you)
- AND, for a limited time, your Gift Certificate comes in one of these fabulous tins. (Just think, get that last person checked off your shopping list, and avoid the crush of mall traffic, too!!)
You may have also noticed the sweet ornament gift tag attached to the tins. That tag was created with the So Green stamp set (see it here). I’ve been finding so many uses for this new set, including stamping a “hand stamped by me, recycled by you” greeting on a post-it note inside of the cards I send!
And back to the gift for the Guy Who Has Everything…
While he might like a Stampin’ Up! gift certificate, he might also like a certificate from somewhere else. And no matter where it’s from, he’ll appreciate a snowflake cut from a tin can! (I’d be happy to sell you a Snowflake Tin for $5, shipping included–send me an email)
**BONUS FOR YOU: You never know, he might decide you need a Big Shot at your house, just so you (he) can cut all kinds of craft materials (and non-craft materials).
Listen… did you just hear a grunt from Tool Time man, Tim Allen?

Is that Rudolph, Disguised as an Owl?
Yes, the 2-Step Owl Punch is a fabulous tool (check it out) and I’ve really enjoyed adding owls to some of my recent projects, but did you know that the owl body makes a great reindeer face, too?
There is no end to the number of creative uses you can find for this punch shape. Fortunately though, here’s a Christmas idea that you can copy easily.
Here are the other pieces that you’ll need, all from Stampin’ Up!:
- 2-Step Bird Punch (for the antlers–check it out)
- Big Shot Circles #2 Die (for the chipboard circle you can’t see and the Designer Series Paper circle that you can see)
- 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch
- Jewelry Tag Punch
- Small Heart Punch
- Chipboard Long Board (to make the magnet base stronger)
- White Gel Pen (for eye highlights)
Finally, I used my favorite Tombow Multiadhesive (see it in the catalog) to glue the ceramic magnet to the back of the chipboard circle and to add the layers on the Owl Punch.

Ack! I Need a Quick Christmas Treat!
Close your eyes (or at least squint, so you can still read my blog) and picture yourself all dressed up to go out to a Christmas party. (Go ahead, it’s your imagination–add the sweater you want to buy and subtract the 15 pounds you think you need to lose.)
Wait…where’s your hostess gift? Ack! Did you forget it? Okay, take a deep breath and spend the next 5 minutes stamping a quick treat to take along:
These little treats use the Bigz Candy Wrapper Die for the Big Shot Die Cut Machine (check it out in my online catalog).
Have you seen my Video Tutorial on using the Candy Wrapper Die? Definitely check it out–since you’re trying to run out the door to your party, watching the Video will save you a few minutes on getting the boxes assembled
The rest of the stamping is simple — just stamp the scallop snowflake image from the Sweet Season stamp set and punch with the 1-1/4″ Circle Punch, then stamp again and punch with the Scallop Circle Punch.
The Old Olive circle in between the two was punched with the 1-3/8″ Circle Punch.
Add a Basic Jewel Rhinestone (sticky–yay!) and you’re ready to head to your holiday party!

Blueberry Crisp… it’s not just a dessert
Although it IS a great dessert, it’s ALSO the name of this gorgeous Designer Series Paper.
For Stamp Club this month I wanted to make something that wasn’t red & green. This would make a terrific gift item for a family member or a friend. Just make, fill with photos and give!
This card can be made with any size card stock if you scale appropriately. There are 2 main pieces:
- Folder: 6 x 12”, scored in center to make binding
- Fold-Out Album: 5 x 5” (or any square)
To create the Fold-Out:
1. Begin by scoring in half to make a “+”.
2. Cut one of the score lines from the edge to the center point.
3. Fold all pieces together to make a 5 x 5” square and attach in folder.
The colors here are Pacific Point, Not Quite Navy and Sahara Sand with Very Vanilla. The stamp set is one of my favorites: Friends 24-7. It’s also available as a Digital Download for My Digital Studio!

Pretty Peppermints for Perfect Presents
These would make great gift tags, or use them as a small gift by themselves!
The candy holder is made from the Two Tags Big Shot Die, and the tag trick is borrowed from a tag Make N Take from the Stampin’ Up! Convention several years ago.
I love the “spotlighting” technique for the words on the tag. The technique turns a relatively plain tag into a fun focal point. (Especially with a sticky pearl!)
I repeated the circle motif on the snowflake from the Sweet Seasons stamp set. The Circle Punches are the 1-1/4″, the 1-3/8″ and the 1-3/4″ Scallop Circle.
