Looking for an easy gift project?  Here’s a great one — with an easy box from the Scallop Square Die (see it online) and cards with the Sprinkled Expressions stamp set (available only through March 31st during Sale-A-Bration).

This project was shared in San Antonio at the Regional Demonstrator Training Event.  Interested in attending an event near you? Become a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator and you can join me next time!  Plus the Demonstrator Starter Kit is still $50 off – but ONLY until Saturday, March 31st! (click here to learn more about the demonstrator perks)  That’s $125 for over $345 in Stampin’ Up! products, PLUS when you join my family now, you’ll get FREE Designer Series Paper for a year!

Here’s the easy how-to on this box:

  1. Cut one Scallop Square with the die and your Big Shot
  2. Score between the scallops as shown
  3. Cut up to the score cross score line to make tabs
  4. Fold and adhere to create the box

The Sprinkled Expressions stamp set is a perfect one — greetings & images included — for making quick note cards.

Just remember to place your order before March 31st — after March 31st, the Sale-A-Bration special is over!

Apothecary Art: Quick Cards for any occasion

Did you catch my Video Tutorial on the Apothecary Art stamp set and the Labels Collection Framelits last week?  (check it out now)  Well here’s a Quick Card that still uses the Apothecary Art stamp set (see it online), and the Framelits (see them online), but on an even simpler card background.

Isn’t the background color pretty on this card?  The color is Blushing Bride from the 2010-2012 In Color Collection.  Keep in mind that these 5 colors will be GONE after May 31st when the current catalog retires.  If you want to have them in your collection, be sure to get them now!

Packed for Baby Shower Invitations

A friend of mine recently asked for help in designing baby shower invitations for two of her friends.  We came up with a couple of designs, and she took them to the new-moms-to-be so they could pick their favorite.

Here’s one of the designs featuring the Packed for Baby stamp (see it online).

The card base was cut with the Scallop Square Die (see it online).  Just fold the card stock in half, place on the die so the fold won’t be cut, then run it through the Big Shot.  Voila–shaped card!

Other Supplies:

  • Whisper White, Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder, Island Indigo & Concord Crush card stock
  • Fashionable Hearts Embosslit (see it online)
  • Timeless Type Junior Alphabet Die Set (see it online)
  • Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon

Happy Stamping!

Everyday Enchantment: Sweet Memories

Do you have favorite photos that are just screaming to be featured on a scrapbook page?  While I applaud scrappers who can ‘keep up’ with their family photos, that’s just not going to be me.  Instead, my scrapbook strategy is to enjoy the time I have to scrapbook by picking and choosing my favorite photos.  I don’t worry about whether I’ve finished a baby book before I go on to a picture from last month.

For me, I find it’s a much more enjoyable (aka less stressful) way to catalog our family memories.  Here’s a page that I put together last month for Vickie’s Workshop, using the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper and the Fresh Vintage stamp set (both from the Sale-A-Bration Mini Catalog – download it now – and can be selected for free with a $50 order until March 31).

Look familiar? It should!  The layout is the same as the My Digital Studio page I shared yesterday — the one I patterned after a layout in the Stampin’ Up! catalog.

Still trying to decide which Sale-A-Bration stamp sets and selections  you want to earn for free before March 31st?  Here are some of the projects I’ve shared on my blog:

Mask Technique for Punches

Ever try to punch in a specific part of a card, only to find that the punch has moved or you didn’t center the punch as you expected?  Here is a GREAT punching trick that will help you line up your punches every time.  It’s a great technique for projects like this, where you need your Blossom Punch shape right in the center of each note card layer.

This little note card set and matching Fancy Favor Die gift box are one of the 4 projects from my current Stamps in the Mail Club round! (learn more)

I am in love with these colors!  They remind me of rainbow sherbet, which is my absolute favorite Baskin Robbins flavor…oh, and Daiquiri Ice, YUM.  Until it’s available this summer, I’ll content myself with stamping in Pool Party, Calypso Coral and Peach Parfait.

Mask Technique for Punches:

  1. Punch a piece of sticky note so the punched shape includes a sticky edge
  2. Place this mask over the paper, positioning where you’d like the final hole
  3. Punch directly over the mask, lining punch with shape.  VOILA!

Stamps: You’re My Type, Mixed Bunch;
Ink: Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Peach Parfait;
Paper: Naturals Ivory, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Peach Parfait, Chocolate Chip, Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper (Sale-A-Bration!);
Accessories: Blossom Punch, 3/4″ Circle Punch, 1/2″ Circle Punch, Modern Label Punch, Chocolate Chip Scalloped Polka Dot Ribbon, Fancy Favor Die, Big Shot

If Stamping is Fun, then Stamping with Chocolate is BETTER

When I go to someone’s home for a Stampin’ Up! party, I often plan two projects to share — a quick & easy card, and a project using chocolate.  Because stamping is fun, but stamping with CHOCOLATE is better!  I have a number of “candy projects” in past blog posts, and here is another, using the Two Tags Die for the Big Shot. (see it online)

The larger of the tags on the Two Tags Die is just about perfect for wrapping a small Hershey’s bar.  This project could hardly be simpler:

  1. Cut the large tag in the Two Tags Die from the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper (it’s one of the free Sale-A-Bration selections)
  2. Add candy in the center (I like to hold mine in the center with a Stampin’ Dimensional) and wrap with ribbon from the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon & Brad Pack (also one of the Sale-A-Bration selections)
  3. Heat emboss and punch the postage stamp from the Fresh Vintage stamp set (Sale-A-Bration selection) using the Postage Stamp Punch
  4. Layer with Poppy Parade card stock & give to a friend!

Even more fun, these little treats can be adapted for pretty much any occasion.  Here’s a fun idea that I used for Valentine’s Day.  We made 50 of these as favors for the Senior Bingo Party at our local library!

Yup — the Occasions Alphabet (see it online) that I used here is a terrific one to have on hand for all kinds of occasions, all year long.

April Showers Bring May Flowers

Hang on a second… it’s not April yet!  But if you’re planning a baby shower, you might already be working on your invitations.  I wanted to share my design for these invites that my friend Caty will be sending out. (That came out wrong… no, it’s not a shower for ME!)

The colors are from the In Color 2011-2013 Collection, and the little bear stamp is from the Packed for Baby stamp in the Occasions Mini Catalog (see it online).  The shower greeting comes from the Inviting stamp set (see it online).

The pot actually opens on the side and the final invitation fits into a number 10 envelope.

The Mixed Bunch stamp set and the matching Blossom Punch were a perfect way to build a bouquet (see them in my Stamps in the Mail Club).  The Cherry Blossom Embosslit is still available in my Online Clearance Rack.

Whoo Loves You: a Valentine Card

Happy Valentine’s Day!!

At my daughter’s school (1st & 2nd graders) they have a Post Office each year. The Post Office is run by the students (they empty post boxes, cancel, sort & deliver the mail). The kids all write to each other, but parents can also send in mail to be delivered to our kids. Since I had some owl parts on my stamping table, I thought I’d send her a quick Owl Note.

Did you see my original post of this project? I made these for a group of moms who wanted my help with making Class Treats for their preschoolers. If you have a group that might like to make class treats in central Illinois, be sure to contact me for details on pricing and dates!
